Correctness in Vitruvius

«Next, correctness (decor) is the refined appearance of a project that has been composed of proven elements and with authority. It is achieved with respect to function, which is called thematismos in Greek, or tradition, or nature.»

—Ten Books on Architecture, eds. Rowland ⁊ Howe

I would venture that few consider "correctness" a criterion in design, let alone in their life. Yet, I propose to consider the value of "correctness" as a value in life and in art.
